IPLV (Integrated Part Load Value)

Efficiency index that considers chiller performance at different partial loads.

Formula:

IPLV = 0,01A + 0,42B + 0,45C + 0,12D

The IPLV (Integrated Part Load Value) is the most representative index of a chiller's real efficiency, as it considers that equipment rarely operates at full load.

Why is IPLV Important?

  • Studies show that chillers operate on average:
  • 1% of the time at 100% load
  • 42% of the time at 75% load
  • 45% of the time at 50% load
  • 12% of the time at 25% load

IPLV Formula

IPLV = 0.01A + 0.42B + 0.45C + 0.12D

  • Where:
  • A = Efficiency at 100% load
  • B = Efficiency at 75% load
  • C = Efficiency at 50% load
  • D = Efficiency at 25% load
